The history of OOO PTK KRPMS began in 1998 when Subsidiary State Unitary Enterprise Kalugaremputmash-Servis was created, a subsidiary of Remputmash plant in Kaluga. Its main functions were to perform warranty and post-warranty service of the track equipment manufactured and to supply spare parts to the railways of Russia to ensure their operability.

In 2002, due to the restructuring of the Ministry of Railways of Russia, it was decided to liquidate a number of enterprises of the Ministry of Railways, including the Subsidiary State Unitary Enterprise Kalugaremputmash-Servis.

On May 2, 2002, Engineering and Manufacturing Company Kalugaremputmash-Servis was created, which employed the entire labour force of the liquidated subsidiary. At that time, the main task of the company was to perform one of the functions of the Subsidiary State Unitary Enterprise Kalugaremputmash-Servis related to the servicing of track equipment. A service department was created within the company, which provided high-quality and operational maintenance of track machines covered by the Kaluga Remputmash plant’s warranty subject to a contract with the plant. At the same time, the service department performed post-warranty maintenance of track equipment on a contractual basis with Russian Railways and assisted enterprises of track facilities in the performance of commissioning, restoration works, as well as in training engine attendants. This made it possible to achieve an increase in the efficiency of the use of track equipment pool when performing repairs and current local maintenance of the track.

Due to the ever-increasing number of track machines manufactured and repaired by the Kaluga plant Remputmash and following an increase in output of high-performance track equipment together with the world leading companies: Plasser and Theurer (Austria), Speno (Switzerland), MTH-Praha (Czech Republic), Compel (Slovakia), Cummins (America), in 2002 OOO PTK KRPMS decided to create 10 control points on the railways.

In 2004 OOO PTK Kalugaremputmash-Servis signed an agreement with Cummins on training the company’s employees in maintenance and overhaul of Cummins engines. At the same time, in 2004, OOO PTK and Cummins signed a dealer agreement and the first official dealer’s certificate in the Russian Federation was received. To make repairs possible, a workshop was leased to meet all the necessary parameters of Cummins, where the first overhauls of Cummins diesel engines in Russia started. From then on the company began developing rapidly, expanding the scope of its activity. The growth of the model range of diesel engines repaired, the need to create a warehouse of spare parts brought to the decision to build the company’s own workshop. In the beginning of 2007, the construction of a production and office building with warehouses with a total area of 1500 m2 was begun, and on August 1, 2007, the opening ceremony and commissioning of the new building took place.

In 2009, when large foreign investors, such as Volkswagen AG, Volvo Truck Corporation, Nestle Purina PetCare, Magna Technoplast, Visteon, Benteller, Gestamp, Gonvarri, Felz-Werke, arrived in the Kaluga region, our company became a reliable partner in the field of servicing hydraulic systems and equipment. In 2009, hydraulic systems servicing department was created, the specialists of which carry out full diagnostics and repair malfunctions of faulty units around the clock. The technological capabilities of the equipment that we use make it possible to manufacture hydraulic cylinders with a cylinder tube diameter from 25 mm to 500 mm, and with a stroke of up to 22,000 mm. The high proficiency of our employees, the presence of our own design engineering department with extensive experience, a well-organized production process and a quality management system certified according to ISO 9001-2001 allow us to ensure production of high-quality hydraulic cylinders in the shortest possible time. All hydraulic equipment, manufactured and repaired by our company, passes a bench test stage in accordance with the requirements of GOST 18464-9; hydraulic cylinders are completed with a data sheet and labelled with a unique number.

Due to the increase in the volume of production and repair of hydraulic cylinders, at the end of 2010 OOO PTK Kalugaremputmash-Servis began to purchase imported components directly from manufacturers and mastered the production of rubber seals resistant to aggressive media and high temperatures (polyurethane, elastomers, polytetrafluoroethylene and plastics) with diameters up to 520 mm both for its own needs and for sale. At the same time, in 2010, a department was created to sale imported components for hydraulic cylinders, and trial deliveries of honed tubes and chrome-plated bars for manufacturers of hydraulic cylinders and repair companies was started. In 2012, Subsidiary Production Company PROMTUBE was founded, which carries out production of precision tubes in full compliance with EN 10305-1 (DIN 2393), used primarily for manufacturing of high-quality hydraulic cylinders. Due to the most modern automated equipment made in Italy and ultra-modern patented German tools, quality control at all production stages, from black tube manufacturing to packaging and loading, highly qualified personnel, the company manages to be a commendable competitor in this market area.

Today, the company employs about 200 people. It has its own boiler room, substation, backup diesel generator unit, access roads. The main areas of company’s operation are:

Production and repair of hydraulic cylinders:

• Development and production of hydraulic cylinders, including production according to customer’s drawings. The manufacturing capability of the company make it possible to manufacture hydraulic cylinders with the following parameters: piston diameter up to 1,000 mm, rod diameter up to 600 mm, valve rod travel up to 16,000 mm.
• Performance of all types of works related to repair and restoration of parts and assemblies of hydraulic cylinders: honing, chrome plating, grinding, polishing, boring internal diameters, assembly and testing on a specialized test bench. We also repair pneumatic cylinders and their components.

Hydraulic high-pressure pipes, pipe connections and pipe fittings:

• Supplying seamless precision high-pressure pipes manufactured according to standard 10305-4/2391. We sell galvanized, phosphated and stainless hydraulic pipes with diameters from 6 to 60 mm.
• Delivery of pipe threaded connections and adapters according to 2353. All-sized galvanized and stainless steel connectors in a wide range are always available in stock.
• Single and double pipe clamps acc. to 3015 for mounting hydraulic pipes.

Hydraulic and pneumatic seals, manufacturing seals and parts according to customer’s parameters:

• Supplying and selling a wide range of sealing systems.
• Production of hydraulic and pneumatic seals by lathe turning: a wide range of materials and profiles. For the production, we use modern equipment made by a European manufacturer, Seal Maker Produktions-und Vertriebs GmbH (Austria).
• Production of parts from composite materials according to customer’s drawings with mechanical processing using modern high-quality raw materials.

Seamless precision tubes and chrome-plated bars:

• Seamless cold drawn precision tubes with tolerance 8, 9 and internal diameter from 20 to 250 mm.
• Seamless hot-rolled tubes with internal diameter from 250 to 550 mm.
• Tubes honed on internal diameter.
• Chrome-plated hollow and solid bars, as well as induction hardened chrome-plated bars (IH).

Selling high-pressure hoses, fittings and quick couplings. Manufacturing high-pressure hoses according to the customer’s sample and parameters:

• Hydraulic high-pressure hoses
• Fittings, sleeves and quick-release couplings.
• Manufacturing of high-pressure hoses according to the customer’s sample and parameters.
