Chrome-plated solid bars for hydraulic cylinders

A bar is one of the main parts in hydraulic and pneumatic systems which is subjected to power loads and operates in all conditions, including extreme ones. Also, bars may be exposed to aggressive chemicals. To prolong service life of a bar, special treatment is needed, such as chrome plating.

Chrome-plated bars are made from the following steel grades: SK 45, C50,20MnV6, 45MnV1, 38MnVS6, 42CrMo4 according to EN 10083 or EN 10277.

There are two types of chrome-plated bars:

• hollow
• solid

Solid chrome-plated bars are all-metal steel bars coated with a layer of chrome.

You can purchase solid bars of standard sizes from us, in the range from 6 to 250 mm, we can also manufacture bars according to individual parameters.

The solid chrome-plated bars supplied by OOO PTK Kalugaremputmash-Servis correspond to the following characteristics:

Steel Grade: CK45,С50, 20MnV6, 45MnV1, 38MnVS6, 42CrMo4

Production standard: EN 10083 or EN 10277

Technical parameters:

Outer diameter tolerance: f7.

Chrome plating thickness:

< Ø 20 = min. 15 µm

> Ø 20 = min. 20 µm

Linearity:

Ø < 16: max. 0.3 mm/1,000 mm

Ø > 16:max. 0.2 mm/1,000 mm

Ovality: within ½ from tolerance f7 according to ISO standard.

Roughness: Ra 0.20 µm max.

Chrome hardness: HRC 66-69 (HV 0,1/HV 850-1000).

Standard lengths: 5.0-7.5 m.

Steel grades for manufacturing solid bars for hydraulic cylinders:

CK45 - medium carbon steel characterized by high rigidity and strength. Suitable for production of most hydraulic cylinders not requiring special operating conditions.

20MnV6 - micro-alloyed carbon-manganese steel with high tensile strength. Bars made of steel of this brand are used in low temperature conditions.

42CrMo4 - high-quality structural alloyed steel used for manufacturing bars for heavy-load hydraulic cylinders, where axial and radial loads occur.

Solid bars may be manufactured from the following steel grades: C50, 45MnV1, 38MnVS6.

An identification label is applied on every product in a certain sequence according to the following points:

• Trade mark,
• Standard size,
• Material grade,
• Production standard,
• Melting number.
