We should make a special note on telescopic hydraulic cylinders. As a rule, telescopic hydraulic cylinders may be of two types: single- and double-acting. Single-acting hydraulic cylinders have only one working cavity, and the rods are pulled in under the action of an external load. Double-acting telescopic hydraulic cylinders have two cavities and allow the rods to be drawn in when pressure is applied to the rod cavity. There are also intermediate types of telescopic hydraulic cylinders, e.g. when one of the elbows is pushed in by the pressure of the working fluid, and the others are lowered under the action of an external force.

Normally, the process of ordering and manufacturing a hydraulic cylinder is as follows.
- An application for a hydraulic cylinder comes from a customer. The application can be in any form. It may be a sketch, an assembly drawing, or even a sample of a hydraulic cylinder. At this stage, the cost of the hydraulic cylinder is calculated. - A general view drawing is developed and coordinated with the customer, with overall and connecting dimensions. At this stage, minor technical issues are coordinated that do not affect the final cost of the hydraulic cylinder.
- A full set of documentation for manufacturing the hydraulic cylinder is developed. All drawings are transferred to production.
- Parts and assemblies of the hydraulic cylinder are manufactured.
- The hydraulic cylinder is assembled. To do this, specialized equipment and test beds are used.
- The hydraulic cylinder is tested. In the process, the working capacity of the hydraulic cylinder is checked, it is subjected to tests on durability, tightness, etc. All test results are documented.
- The hydraulic cylinder is painted and packed, if necessary, and then shipped to the customer.
